TRANSYT 16: Save by Switching to a New Annual Plan
Whenever there is a pricing announcement, it tends to be bad news. Not this time! Based on your feedback, we have changed our TRANSYT pricing to a yearly subscription model, meaning you can now purchase a single TRANSYT 16 user license for just £670[1] with support included.
For over 50 years TRANSYT has been supporting the design, modelling, evaluation and optimisation of networks of traffic signals, and in recent years single junctions too. Signal timings have a huge impact on the level of traffic congestion, not just at the junction itself but also the surrounding junctions. However, not all junctions require full traffic management solutions. Instead, TRANSYT offers a quick solution with minimal user input. This can then also feed into other processes – signal plans for fixed time signals, cableless linking facilities, SCOOT base timings etc.
The ability to use TRANSYT for signal timing optimisation is at the core of the product. A detailed traffic model is created, using traffic flows, turning proportions, and network structure information. This is then used by TRANSYT to calculate a Performance Index, which is based on the economic costs of stops and delays. With this ‘PI’ in mind, TRANSYT then runs an optimisation process adjusting the signal timings to get the best result possible! It applies the algorithms built from 50+ years of knowledge and data to deliver optimised traffic signal timings.
Recent enhancements, driven by customer feedback has seen the latest version, TRANSYT 16, incorporate major design, modelling and data handling improvements. For example, the network diagram ‘Flow Overlay’ which presents colour-coded flow volumes across ever lane, is the perfect tool for speeding up signalled roundabout design. Alongside this, TRANSYT has had many user interface enhancements, making it easier and quicker to use. Just think of the time saved when TRANSYT auto-calculates inter-greens based on the network structure!
Other key modelling features include:
- Evaluate performance of existing layouts, optimise signal timings and investigate future scenarios
- Model and compare signalised, partially signalised and priority roundabouts within one file
- Simulation model for evaluating the performance of a wider variety of scenarios for a given set of timings, including intermittent stages
- Choice of optimisers to establish multidirectional ‘green waves’
And many more! Read more about the latest TRANSYT 16 enhancements here.
