TRL Software is proud to announce the launch of the latest version of its TRANSYT software. Designed to deliver unparalleled efficiency in traffic signal design, performance evaluation and signal optimization, the upgraded TRANSYT 17 brings time-saving and cost-cutting efficiencies to traffic management professionals worldwide.
Targeted Innovative modelling enhancements add to the traffic engineer and the traffic modeller’s toolkit. For example, enhancing actuated traffic control modelling in an innovative manner allowing, for the first time, a broader user base to model vehicle-actuated traffic signals, bypassing the need to understand or have access to more complex modelling tools. New TRANSYT 17 actuated traffic control modelling includes:
- Preservation of cycle length when stages are skipped, to mimic UTC behaviour
- Variable minimum green times
- Pre ‘end-of-saturation’ green extensions
- Junction-wide delay minimisation
- Pedestrian actuation of signalled pedestrian crossings
The above innovations are strengthened by key interface enhancements, targeted visualisation updates and extended model results, making TRANSYT even more enlightening and easier to use.
As always, customer needs come highest on our agenda, and TRANSYT 17 in this respect does not disappoint, with new ‘fine-tuning’ of traffic arrival rates to model infrequent events, such as the impact of occasional actuation of level-crossings – a modelling scenario that comes up surprisingly often.
As you can see, “at TRL Software, we’re committed to driving innovation in traffic management to help cities meet the challenges of urbanisation and climate change,” said Jim Binning, Product Owner at TRL Software. “The latest version of TRANSYT empowers traffic professionals with the tools they need to design smarter, more sustainable transport networks.”
