Data Workbench
A built-in suite of tools to assist with data transformation
Home | Digital Asset Management | iROADS™ | Data Workbench
iROADS provides a suite of tools for working with data: importing, exporting, validating, reviewing, approving, and integrating. The purpose of all these tools is to give you control over what data gets into the system, how it gets in, and the data quality checks it should go through. These processes can be manual if you want to retain full oversight, or automated to various degrees according to need.
iROADS includes optional ‘intelligent’ update tools, which can undertake more complex data operations, such as calculating the resultant pavement construction following an update of construction data. The purpose of these is to streamline data work, reducing time and effort required from your teams.

Data import
iROADS makes it easy to import a large variety of datasets including asset data, spatial data, survey imagery, traffic data, and more. We support all common file formats for each data type, and have inbuilt validation checks to ensure correct integration.
Data quality assurance
The Data Staging Area is a ‘holding area’ for incoming data, and provides the necessary information, metrics and tools to allow for good quality assurance. Robust review and approval business processes can be set up.
Process automation
In some cases it’s just not necessary and/or desirable to apply the most rigorous level of quality control. To avoid wasted effort in these cases, and ensure data gets integrated quickly, review/validation processes can be automated using iROADS tools.
Smart updaters
Import of some datasets requires additional system ‘intelligence’. Pavement construction data is one example: the system should calculate resultant pavement construction after a data update. iROADS has smart updater tools for such cases.
Exporting data
There is often a need to export data from iROADS, for example to share with third parties, or to import to another system. iROADS enables the export of the vast majority of datasets it holds, with various options for file format such as csv or pdf.
