HDM-4 Integration
A dedicated module in iROADS to work with HDM-4 software
Home | Digital Asset Management | iROADS™ | HDM-4 Integration
iROADS includes a dedicated module designed to integrate seamlessly with HDM-4 software. This feature enables users to reorganise and homogenise road network data within iROADS, generating HDM-4-compatible input files for advanced analysis. This feature reduces the time spent on preparing HDM-4-compatible datasets. Tasks that once took weeks can now be completed in hours using query-based group creation and automated homogenisation. It also ensures road network data adheres to HDM-4’s input requirements, minimising errors during data import and analysis.
By exporting the homogenised network as an HDM-4-compatible .mdb file, users can import pavement inventory, condition data, road geometry, and traffic information into HDM-4 for tasks, such as maintenance planning and forward works programming.
With this robust feature, iROADS elevates its position as an end-to-end road asset management solution, supporting decision-makers in achieving sustainable and data-driven road infrastructure management.

Automated homogenization
The module redefines road segments based on user-defined criteria such as pavement conditions, traffic, or geometry. It allows merging or splitting road segments to meet HDM-4’s strict data input requirements.
Seamless export
This iROADS feature compiles and exports all required data, including traffic data (AADT and vehicle-wise breakdown), HDM-4 configuration labels, and other default parameters, ensuring effortless compatibility with HDM-4.
Flexible configuration
Homogenisation rules can be configured in iROADS based on structural attributes like Deflection, functional attributes like IRI (roughness), surface type, AADT, or geographic boundaries, empowering users to tailor the analysis to specific project needs.
One-time setup with re-usability
The user can define routes or network groups once and reuse them for multiple analyses with updated datasets, saving significant time in future analyses.
User-friendly process
Reduces time spent on preparing HDM-4-compatible datasets. Tasks that once took weeks can now be completed in hours using query-based group creation and automated homogenisation.
Visualise HDM-4 outputs
Import the outputs of HDM-4 analysis, like forward works programme, back into iROADS for better visualisation on its map-based interface and for generating user-friendly reports. (This feature is in beta build).
