By default TRANSYT needs write-access to a temporary folder (“<Application Folder>\T12temp”) where it saves a number of temporary files (including SO.EXE).
This error can occur on any version of Windows, but is most prevalent on Windows 7 systems since, by default, the Program Files area is often set up as a read-only area.
All you need to do is change TRANSYT to point to a different temporary location which has write-access.
- Please go to TRANSYT’s main menu option “Options / User Options”
- Select the “Temporary Folder Path” tab
- Select “User Defined” and select a folder to which you have write-access to. e.g. if using Windows 7 you could choose a folder in your “Documents” Library.
TRANSYT 12 should start working straight away. N.B. There is no need to reboot your PC.
