Designed to take users from ‘no knowledge’ on the topic of pedestrian street audits to being a competent user of PERS methodology and software.
1 Day PERS Course
Ideal for those who are responsible for encouraging pedestrian activity, improving pedestrian safety and planning for non-motorised users. It will appeal to policy makers, engineers and urban realm practitioners alike.
Part theory and part practical, the training includes a morning session in the classroom learning about best practice in encouraging pedestrian mobility. It covers the PERS method and its overarching principles in detail before going out to a local town for a practical on-street taster audit during the afternoon.
Delegates will then return back to the classroom to use the software and analyse results from the taster audit, and the day will wrap up with a Q&A session, where delegates can take the opportunity to understand how the method can be applied to their projects with best advantage. Case studies of previous PERS audits will be explored throughout the day.
All participants will get a learning pack to take away which will contains all the necessary information to start a PERS project. A working lunch will be provided as part of the on street audit.
The course will begin at 09:00 and finish around 17:00.
