TRL Software virtually launches its new UTC, powered by SCOOT® 7
We are virtually launching our new UTC, powered by SCOOT® 7 on Tuesday 30th June 2020 at 12:30pm.
Unique to TRL Software, our UTC system will utilise SCOOT® 7, enabling traffic engineers to respond automatically to traffic fluctuations, removing the need for signal plans which are expensive to prepare and unable to manage increasingly complex traffic patterns. Introducing critical capabilities including bus priority and cycle and pedestrian optimisation as part of SCOOT® 7, the UTC will also provide users with the ability to manually trigger gating of traffic signals, which is essential as part of required mitigation strategies.
Built with the user in mind, previous UTC thinking has been thrown out to build an innovative SaaS platform that works for the user, enabling them to unlock data through the UTC’s Open Data Developer Portal and orchestrate their network. Thanks to its ability to be deployed on an organisation’s chosen cloud platform, our UTC will be a subscription-based platform providing not only commercial flexibility but also complete scalability.
Traffic management is becoming increasingly challenging and costly, especially in these uncertain times, as well as an expansion in the different types of traffic in our cities and communities. This has resulted in the need for improved systems that can manage the traffic flow more efficiently and cost-effectively. Thanks to its ability to be fully adaptable and scalable with any standards based OTUs, our UTC is ready to take the step forward and move with future mobility.
User journeys have been traced by UI experts to ensure that tasks that used to be complex and timely are now as efficient as possible, meaning traffic engineers at all levels can optimise their network. Add to this our desire to have an open and controller-agnostic system, end users will find that our new traffic management solution will be the perfect fit for an ever-changing traffic management environment.
